Responsive To You
A GemJoy can respond to more than recognition. Experiences change when a GemJoy moves, is touched, or is briefly hidden from view. GemJoys are full of interactive processes and games shaped by a user’s actions.
That is the possibility we care about most: a piece you can play with, and a world that responds.
It begins with the object
At the center of a GemJoy piece is an image designed to be seen. It also serves another purpose: the system can recognize it and interact with it.
The GemJoy is recognized
When the piece enters the view of a compatible device its sensor captures information about the GemJoy.
The GemJoy does more than decorate the piece; it tells the system where an experience can begin.
A world opens in the viewport
GemJoy can present an animated augmented reality experience. A creature may appear. A scene may unfold. As your perspective changes, your view into that world can change too.
The viewport lets you see digital content in relation to the object in front of you. The jewelry remains real; the experience gives you another way to encounter it.
GemJoy’s technology is described in two issued U.S. utility patents: 10,956,740 B1, issued March 23, 2021, and 12,657,910 B1, issued June 16, 2026.
Together, they describe a way for recognizable markers in jewelry and accessories to open animated experiences and invite the person holding the piece to take part.
